Born from personal experience and a lifelong love of animals, our mission is to help eligible pet owners manage the costs associated with claiming on their pet insurance, reducing financial pressure when their pets need veterinary care.
The Pet Protection Fund was inspired by first-hand experiences of financial hardship and the emotional challenges of caring for pets when unexpected veterinary treatment is needed.
After tragically losing a beloved rescue cat, Daisy, our founder welcomed two rescue kittens, Willow and Nox, into the family. When Willow developed a limp shortly afterwards, the worry of being unable to afford immediate veterinary treatment was overwhelming.
Thankfully, Willow recovered, but the experience highlighted just how vulnerable pet owners can feel when faced with unexpected veterinary costs. Both kittens were insured soon afterwards, and the experience helped inspire what would become The Pet Protection Fund.
Today, that personal experience continues to shape our mission: helping protect the special bond between pets and the people who love them.
Pet insurance can provide valuable financial protection, but having a policy doesn’t always mean veterinary treatment is affordable. Excess payments and other claim-related costs can still leave owners facing difficult decisions.
We want to help bridge that gap by supporting eligible pet owners experiencing financial hardship, so unexpected costs don’t become an unnecessary barrier to veterinary care.
